Adobe

Use it when

You already design in Adobe apps (or your team standardizes on them) and want generative fill, image generation, and related AI assists without leaving the files you ship from.

What it does well

• Firefly generation and editing across web/mobile plus Creative Cloud workflows (e.g. Generative Fill in Photoshop)
• Unlimited standard image features on paid Firefly plans, with monthly generative credits for premium features like text-to-video
• Plan ladder for individuals: Standard for core image AI; Pro and up add Express Premium and full Photoshop on web/mobile
• Access to Adobe and partner AI models; higher tiers expand video volume and promo unlimited generations on select models
• Commercially oriented Firefly model training narrative (licensed/public-domain sources; not customer content)—verify partner-model terms separately

Skip it when

• Your team is not in the Adobe ecosystem and you only need a lightweight image explorer—compare Ideogram or Midjourney
• Standard's lack of Express Premium / Photoshop web-mobile blocks your stack—step up to Pro or use an existing Creative Cloud seat
• You need SVG-first icon or illustration generation as the main job—compare Recraft
• You want readable text-in-image as the primary differentiator—compare Ideogram alongside Adobe for that brief

Fits your workflow

Generate or fill inside Photoshop, Illustrator, Express, or Firefly on the web, then finish type, layout, and export in the same Adobe file. If you already pay for Creative Cloud, check included generative credits before adding a Firefly plan. Use Standard for image-heavy assists; choose Pro or higher when you need bundled Express/Photoshop web access or more premium video credits. Team licenses add admin tools when the studio shares seats.
