Use it when

You are shortlisting type for a wordmark, poster, sign, invitation, or cut file, and you want the same string rendered across the faces already on your machine before you open Illustrator, Figma, or Cricut Design Space.

What it does well

• Logged-out System Fonts grid: type a string, compare cards, then size, spacing, day/night, and A–Z or random sort
• Select faces and filter the set so you can isolate a shortlist instead of scrolling a dropdown
• Pro: unlimited previews, tags, Google Fonts, drop fonts without installing, full character sets, print/share, Cricut and image export
• Business: uploaded fonts on any browser or tablet, plus Storefronts—shareable preview pages (customers see images, not font files)

Skip it when

• You need an AI logo file pack (Logomaster, TurboLogo) or prompt-to-SVG icons (SVG AI, Recraft)—this listing is wordmark.it, not logo.wordmark.com
• You need a Figma plugin or a variable-font editor; this is a preview grid, not a layout app
• Hobby caps previews at 400 faces, shows in-product promotions, and the live card frames it for personal projects
• It does not grant font licenses. System and uploaded faces stay under their original terms

Fits your workflow

Type the string → authorize local fonts → scroll System Fonts → click favorites and filter. Move to Pro when you hit 400, need tags, Google Fonts, uninstalled-font drops, or export. Use Business only if you sell customizable type products or need fonts on a tablet via Storefronts and uploads. Students and educators can apply for Pro.
