Smartmockups
For designers who still search for Smartmockups or need photoreal product previews without a photoshoot: the smartmockups.com site closed, and the workflow now lives as Canva Mockups inside the Canva editor. Prefer Placeit when you want a dedicated unlimited mockup library outside Canva, or open Canva directly when you need the full Visual Suite—not only mockups.

Use it when
You need product or merch mockups and you’re fine working in Canva—or you landed here looking for the old Smartmockups brand and need the current path.
What it does well
- Photoreal mockup scenes for apparel, devices, packaging, print, and marketing previews
- Browser workflow inside Canva: open Mockups (Apps), drop in artwork, export without a photoshoot
- Same Canva Free/Pro/Business access model as the main Visual Suite—no standalone Smartmockups billing
- Prior Smartmockups exports remain usable under Canva’s published licensing notes for already-downloaded files
- Clear migration story for searchers who still type “Smartmockups”
Skip it when
- You need the old smartmockups.com account or saved projects—those did not migrate
- You want a dedicated mockup-only Unlimited plan outside Canva—use Placeit instead
- You’re choosing an all-in-one design suite: read our Canva page, not this legacy slug alone
- You refuse the Canva ecosystem and need another independent mockup tool
- Your job is UI product design or design-to-code, not product visualization
Fits your workflow
Open Canva → Apps / Mockups → pick a scene → upload design → export. Stay on Free while the mockup allowance fits; move to Pro/Business with the rest of Canva when you need the full library and higher AI/brand limits. For plan dollars and suite features, see our Canva page; for a non-Canva mockup library, see Placeit.
