Use it when

You need FLUX-quality stills and you will evaluate in the playground, then either download into Figma or integrate via API—or you already plan to self-host open weights.

What it does well

• FLUX.2 family for text-to-image plus editing paths (Kontext, fill, eraser, try-on)
• Browser playground to test prompts with no code; API uses the same credit meter
• Open-weight licenses with fine-tuning and LoRA rights on Builder and up
• FLUX 3 adds video, audio, and action-prediction; this listing’s job is still stills

Skip it when

• You need a dedicated upscaler (Magnific, Upscayl, Topaz)—FLUX is generation, not an enlarge product
• You want a consumer multi-model browser (getimg) or a community LoRA hub (Civitai)
• You need icons, SVG systems, or a Midjourney-style social studio
• Login grants no credits. Hosted playground/API is pay-as-you-go; there is no monthly seat plan
• Open weights are a separate license: Builder is 10K images/month, 1 domain, internal/marketing—not client apps
• Platform is 100K/month to ship generation to your users; Professional is 100K for agencies (up to 3 client domains). FLUX.2 [dev] has no hosted API

Fits your workflow

Playground → download stills into Figma for comps. For production, buy hosted credits or pick an open-weights tier that matches where images run (internal vs your product vs named clients). Don’t treat the weights license as playground credits.
