Use it when

You want to evolve a character or portrait by mixing images and gene sliders—or collage shapes, type, and pictures—then pull a still into Figma. You are exploring, not locking a logo or UI icon set.

What it does well

• Splicer / Splicer2 for mixing images and editing genes (age, look, color)
• Collage: compose from shapes, images, and text, then generate
• Huge public library to remix, plus contests and remix parties
• Support: outputs are CC0 and may be used commercially; cite the image URL when it still looks like the source
• Pro adds privacy controls, no ads, Google Drive sync, Composer unlimited gens, and Splicer fast mode

Skip it when

• You need prompt-only photoreal or a Discord studio (Midjourney) or Playground.com merch templates
• You need Recraft / SVG AI for icons, or Magnific for dedicated upscaling
• You need files others cannot remix: default work is public; Private mode is a Pro benefit
• Free accounts start with 3 credits and refill to 3. The pricing page has no Free card—credits buy speed/resolution, not the whole product
• If credits run out you can still make Splicer images and slow Collager gens. Credits do not roll over (monthly or yearly reset)
• Yearly Pro pools: Starter 1,200 credits, Advanced 3,300, Champion 8,400. Composer unlimited gens are for subscribers

Fits your workflow

Browse or upload a face → Splicer/Collage mix → download → redraw in Figma or Photoshop if it has to become a character sheet. Use Pro when generations must stay private. Don’t treat the ‘unlimited free’ marketing line as a credit pool—that refers to the leftover free Splicer/slow Collager path.
