CLO

Use it when

You are designing a garment that has to drape, fit, and reach a factory, not just look right in a sketch. Use it when the 3D sample should carry the pattern, the colorway, and the specs.

What it does well

• Draft patterns or start from premade blocks, then simulate drape and fit on an avatar
• Sketch on the avatar and turn that drawing into patterns
• Generate a texture or graphic in AI Studio and apply it to the garment
• Make a reference image, a virtual try-on, or a flat lay from AI Studio, then download it
• Review a line with realistic drape and precise colorways before you commit the collection
• Export 2D patterns as DXF (AAMA, ASTM, or standard) for pattern CAD such as Gerber or Lectra

Skip it when

• You need a flat fashion illustration or a logo, not a garment with a pattern
• You want a photo try-on and have no pattern or 3D sample to build
• AI Graphic Generator and the portrait composite in AI Render are in beta and can be paused
• AI Studio stays off until you accept the AI terms in CLO Admin and turn each feature on
• The public trial is for individual use: hobbyists, freelancers, and one-person studios. A company trial goes through CLO
• The 14-day trial needs a payment method, and the paid plan starts unless you cancel first
• Students need to verify enrollment before the trial to get the student plan
• Teams and classrooms are Enterprise or Academic, quoted separately from the individual plan

Fits your workflow

Build the garment in CLO, check drape and colorways, then export patterns as DXF for factory CAD. Turn AI Studio on from your account before you expect textures, graphics, or images. The individual plan covers your own commercial work. A studio rolling CLO out to a team should ask CLO for an Enterprise trial.
